Hi
Here are some pics of our late winter project. It has become a very useful addition to the fleet! It can haul and dump a full 10cu.yds. of RCA. (we finally got to do that this weekend.) Now we can move on to futzing with that wrecker.
Here's a little summary of the work performed:
-Removed old 8' Heil dump bed and 40K Braden Winch. (Winch For Sale BTW)
-Removed all non-stock bracketry and other hodge-podge off of truck & frame.
-Raised location of PTO driven Hydraulic pump on. (was hanging way down like a ball sack)
-Repaired and raised location of fuel tank.
-Wire wheeled frame and undercarriage.
-Cut & raised "new" dump bed cap protector 6" to clear cab.
-Placed "new" 10' dump on frame and secured it.
-Welded on 1/2" plate superstructure for towing etc.
-Added new lights, electrical where necessary.
-Removed stock wheel spacers to utiliize rear duals. Bought new Budd studs and nuts
-Dismounted all old tires and wire wheeled all wheels and locking rims.
-Mounted all new General HCT 12.00x20.00 16ply 45" dia. tires max. load is 7780 lbs. each. (now only made in South America) $150 each with tube and flap.
-Relocated step ladder on dump bed. Wire wheeled and sanded everything.
-Painted truck with Magnet Paints. (Brushed on ) JD Green and JD Industrial Yellow (painting still to do)
-Hung mudflaps. Had to get the Oshkosh flaps from Fairfield's in VT
-Oh yeah changed all filters and fluids and Brake Air lines.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Enough said. Enjoy the pictures!!
