Follow (or “Watch”) this year’s thread. We’ll bump it next year when a new thread is posted.Hmmm, bummer I missed it. Is there a list I can get on or a thread I could follow for next year?
We were in the front parking lot across from the main entrance and vendor area at the museum. The same place as last year. Although we didn’t get much foot traffic (i.e., people walking across the parking lot), everyone could see our trucks.Where did they park you guys? Does not look like there is much foot traffic there.
Ok, "watching the 2023 thread" thanksFollow (or “Watch”) this year’s thread. We’ll bump it next year when a new thread is posted.
So back on topic, I put 177 miles on the M1097R1 this weekend attending the rally and averaged 9.4 miles per gallon. I had a M105 trailer in tow for most of those miles.

That is awesome. i checked on how close you are to my location, +200mi. a bit too far at this point.@frauhansen - You have one good looking truck. And knowing that it fits in the garage at the pub is good intel!
I loaded my M1097R1 up yesterday morning and drove to Giddings, Texas where I met several other SS members at a car show.

I connected with @texas30cal in Brenham and we convoyed from there into Giddings.

We met up with @Eracer46 and @Barrman at the show. Eracer46 was one of the show organizers and, simply put, did an amazing job! The parking lot was full of great cars and pick-up trucks on display. For historic reasons, sections of the old rail road tracks were left in place. That made the perfect parking spot for our MVs!

The Giddings Police and Fire Departments also showed up with their MVs!

But all good things must come to an end. After a great day in Giddings, it was time to head home.

I logged 188 miles on the M1097R1 and averaged 12.1 mpg.
So you opted for the title VS a SF-97? please report back how that goes. That is awesome. i checked on how close you are to my location, +200mi. a bit too far at this point.
General question for folks in Texas with vehicles. I am still waiting for my title (so far, +2.8months in). I noticed no license plates. how does that work? Full transparency, i have driven around Prosper a bit without the plates, but not on main roads.
no. Waiting on sf97 to take it to Frisco to get the Texas title and plates. So you opted for the title VS a SF-97? please report back how that goes.
You can register a former military vehicle by its military registration number, only that comes with all the restrictions TX antique plates come with.
