We took the truck rock crawling yesterday, in Piedmont trails in South Dakota. A 3.7 mile trail took about 1.5 hours, a lot of it was crawling speed.

Nice views from 2/3ds from the top of the hills:

But when I came home, we noticed a leak in the front right break area, needs investigating, possibly a broken lien... ummffff
Man I gota get out of S TX, I love it here, some of the reasons are it is pretty much a desert, no rain, no water and everything here tries to sting you stick you or bite you so only the tough survive, but it is flat as a pancake with no public land.
Anyone that lives where there is some terrain want to adopt a 66 year old delinquent:ROFLMAO:

The Black Hills are considered holy and sacred by the local Native Americans, the Oglala Sioux tribe, and Lokata, Dakota and Nakota tribes. There is something very magical and mystical about this place. Dances with wolves was filmed here, and Kevin Costner fell in love.

If you ever make it up here, I personally invite you and your family to stay with us to experience the wonders here… you can quote me on that. Not a real adoption, but as close as you can get :p

Challenge coin from Delta Air Lines Tech Ops (our great host). Several forum members took vehicles over for display at their annual Veteran’s Celebration. We displayed both at the general offices (pic) and out at the airport maintenance facility.

2nd annual Veteran's Day Parade. These two guys were the Grand Marshalls, 101 and 100 years old left to right. They weren't up to the HMMWV this year so I was #16 with some random friends of the parade people (I guess, really not sure who they were or why they were there despite conversation).

They took us through the parking lot of the extended care facility so the residents could sit in the breezeway and watch us go by.

Just turned over 19K on the DuraVee, 82 deg on Xmas eve, that's life in S TX.
Actually we did get 9" of snow on Christmas eve about 15 years ago or so, it was the first time in recorded history that it snowed on Christmas eve in Corpus Christi TX.

It was a gorgeous in S TX today, definitely a chamber of commerce day!!
Mid 80s in the afternoon and just a wisp of clouds in the sky.
So I jogged down to Pockport TX where they were having a small air show with Stearman rides. They had 3 Stearman, a P51, a couple T6 Texans, a couple planes that were trying to look like T6 Texans and Gooney Bird (C47)
If it's got radial engines I am there!!! for some reason the twins sound the most awesome to me, C47s and my favorite is a low pass by a B25 followed by a turning climb, sounds like the baddest tractor in the world!!
anywho put 150 or so miles on the DuraVee with allot of side trips including setting my eyes on the Gulf Of America for the first time!!
I also pigged out at the Butter Churn in Aransas Pass while I was out.

I wish my Dad was still around to see this, he learned to fly in the Stearman and flew the C47 in WWII
He was shot down for the first time on June 6 1944 dropping paratroopers near Normandy.

How many more times was he shot down?! Would’ve loved to have heard his stories. The only pilots that I know who were shot down multiple times were helicopter pilot Vietnam vets.
Three times, he loved being a transport pilot as there was a large variety in missions, he was also somewhat of a black marketeer and being a transport pilot made that possible, probably why he became a PX officer after the war. :ROFLMAO:
