I have not been on this forum for a long time so please excuse me if what I post is redundant. I got one of the first auction Marine Corp M998s some years ago. The paint was faded but not many gouges or scratches, etc. I wet sanded wearing nitrile gloves, then marked the pattern with chalk, primed and painted with Rapco spray cans. Still looks good but garaged since. I also did a M1109 and M1008 the same way. My grandson has the Blazer in Nebraska and it still looks ok. I have a 1994 H1 that has CARC paint, semigloss, and it looks amazing for its age. I guess I would say if you are going to keep your vehicle forever go with CARC substitute.
