I've started working on my seats and run across something odd. The connecting link on the outside of the passenger bench appears to be too long. When I purchased the truck I noticed that the link was bend outward. Simple fix so I never paid any attention to it. The more I looked at it though the more it appeared to be the wrong length.
When the seat is in the upright position the link is far from being out of travel which allows the seat back to rest (and rattle) against the back of the cab. When the seat is folded down it's about 3/8" too long so if you put weight on the back of the seat the link bends outward. The geometry or length appears to be all wrong.
1) Have others seen this issue?
2) Is this a common problem?
3) Can someone verify the overall length of the link?
I've only been able to find one sample photo and I can see that the link is at the end of the slot when the seat is in the upright position. This appears to be correct.
