17 FEB 2018 Work party at the Rat's Nest, 123 Habein Road, Chehalis WA. 0900. If you feel the need to help with minor maintenance items on the boats, there are two, stop by Saturday morning. We are considering new wiring on the OP boat, getting ready to mount engine mounts in Boat 2, to get ready for engine placement. Hope to have boat 2 on the water this year. General clean up around the area and get to meet some really neat people that were there and did that.

If you were a Brown Water Navy guy, you are especially encouraged to attend.DSC02322.jpg

You gonna let people water ski behind them?

Brent Mullins has one in his Museum of the American GI in Bryan, TX. Very intimidating vehicle.

I haven't seen anyone water ski behind it, but they are a fun bunch of guys. They seem to do somewhere around 30-32 knots. Seeing one sitting in a museum and one on the water executing a full speed 180, makes for quite a bit of difference. Listening to those twin Detroits howl is great stuff.

They certainly could have been very Bad... . Twin 50's on the bow, 50 on the stern, M60 and grenade launcher amidships. One of the guys said today that they made a mount to have twin M60's on their boat. One of the other guys told me about when they were issued a 60mm mortar. They put together a nest of sandbags towards the bow on the starboard side. They knew how it worked but were never really checked out on firing one before. They went in for an extraction and the guys on shore were in a tough spot. They dropped a round in the mortar, Kentucky windaged it and the guys on shore were very happy and asked for more. They got them them out.

Sorry don't think we do. You can find some things out on FB by looking up Gamewardens of Vietnam, or FB and PNW Steelsoldiers. I try to keep calendar events on there.

Badass MV is right! We are lucky to have two in the SF Bay Area. One drove all the way from Napa marina to the Tower Park meet east of Rio Vista a couple times and gave rides.

We are losing our happy home of the last 3 years, so are diligently looking for some storage space for the boats and equipment. We are down to couple of affordable options and plan on moving day of 28 APR. Not sure where yet, but we will be going.
