pickup questions

I have two trucks to pick up at Smyrna, a shop van and a M818. I have been debating what would be the safest and cheapest way to get them home. Go get them with my M35 and tow one home and drive the other, or go in my pickup and drive both of them back. I am leaning towards going in the M35 and towing the M818 and driving the van (assuming they both run). I am thinking that the van will ride better and that I can hook up the brakes on the M818 to the M35. I was wondering what the rest of you think?

Sorry for the double post, but I couldn't seem to add any pictures to the post in the safety category.

Here are the pictures of the trucks.

I guess what I am really asking is an opinion on which of the three would be the safest tower vs towie. From the pictures I can't tell if the M818 has the front air connections. Do they all have them? Would that make it safer to be the towie? Or would the increased power of the 5 ton make it better to tow with it? I am thinking that the shop van would be the heaviest but I haven't looked it up. All of the TN national guard trucks seem to be in pretty good shape so I am thinking that at least one of the two should run.
