Does anyone have the exact measurements for a pintle hitch. I need to recreate one to go in the original mounting hole for a project im
doing and was wondering if anyone had them.

Didnt see anything in the manuals.

Thanks

You going to make a lunette ring, or just need to know how big of round will fit trough your jaws? I'm about 90% sure 1-3/4 round is the max that will fit through the jaws. I can confirm 100% in a couple of hours and also get an estimate on minimum ring diameter.

Are you trying to make a lunette ring or make a pintle hook that mounts on the truck?

Either way it is probably not a good idea if you plan to tow with it.

I want to recreate the pin that goes into the mount, essentially make my own pintle hitch

its a m925a2 cargo truck.
Still not 100% sure what your after, but a ring has to be at least 2.75" to fit (barely) over the hook of your pintle hitch, and the jaws will close on 1.75" diameter round maximum. So in a perfect world, 2.75 ID x 6.25 OD is the heaviest ring that would lock into your pintle. Let me know if this is not what your looking for...
I you need a lunette ring, post up your plan theres likely someone here that has whet you need.

I am making something that goes in place of the pintle hitch. I need it to go into where the pintle hitch goes through the mount on the truck. I am needing the dimension of the shaft that goes through the opening.

If you take your pintle hitch out, and want to put something back in the hole in its place, what diameter is the shaft.

Im just not wanting to have to buy one to get the measurements.

Thanks

Gotcha! I think it may be a tapered shaft. Haven't had mine out though. I'm guessing yours is missing???

I've glanced at PartTarget before but didn't realize it had dimensions on items- that is very useful.

PartTarget shows shank diameter of 2.25" and the threads at the end are 2 1/4-12, so that doesn't seem tapered. In the 24P-1 there is a diagram of the pintle hook which also looks like a consistent diameter, so I would bet on 2.25" straight shank.

I believe the truck side Pintle is a straight shaft. I know that the shaft on the Ring on my M105a2 trailer is tapered
