Please help us ID this part...

We found this at the bottom of the oil pan in the oil sludge. Any ideas what this part is? Quarter is next to it for size reference.

Something that should not be there?. Seriously though. Could that be the restrictor the oil dip stick (is fiddly to pass through) in the filler tube? just a thought.

That's a roundtuit, so you finally got a roundtuit. Does/did the truck have a oil pan heater installed?

That is the restrictor on the dip stick. The tab that holds it to the dip stick is not on the part in the picture. It could still be on the dip stick...look there.
