Wow. The trailered PBY is a treat.
They've brought a PBR out to our local parades for a number of years now, it's quite the treat. They actually have two, currently in the care of the Game Wardens NW. Both are fully restored, fully operational. They usually set up a staircase next to the boat and have it on display all morning and afternoon before the parade so people can come aboard and check it out.Wow. The trailered PBY is a treat.
The pics are outstanding IsaLandr, Thank you!

Especially liking the vintage uniforms. That's a treat!

I'll be chasing a radiator leak this weekend.Just a reminder, this weekend is the Pacific NorthWest rally in McCleary WA
Only things to note are that Friday night I'll be providing about 10 lbs of beef in Korean marinade and rice, so anyone that wants to contribute to dinner that night knows what it is for appropriate side dishes
The highway here between here and Kamilche (near Shelton, WA) is closed for the next two weeks so the only route is through the city of McCleary.
Pacific NorthWest Rally
Copied and pasted from our facebook group. Time to start planning for the 2024 rally in the PNW Location is changing this year from Winlock to McCleary, WA. Dates are changing from the third weekend in July, to the second weekend in July. I put down event starts on Thursday, but that's mostly...www.steelsoldiers.com
You have another perfectly good military vehicle. No excuses.I'll be chasing a radiator leak this weekend.
True, but I also have limited time to do any work, especially work with an unknown ECD. So it has to be this weekend irrespective of other events. You have another perfectly good military vehicle. No excuses.
.Okay, putting out the info for the New Year's Beach Run.
Date is January 1, 2025
Meetup is 8am at The Rusty Tractor in Elma, WA
departing there around 9am or so, or whenever everyone that we know is coming has shown up.
Will pull into the Ocean Shores Convention Center parking lot about 10:30ish
After that will drive along the beach until we find a nice spot, and will have a fire.
Bring some firewood if you got it.
Bring whatever food you want to cook over the fire, usually some type of sausage or hot dog.
We finally leave whenever everyone gets sick of the cold rain and wind making things somewhat miserable
After that we might stop in town for souvenirs, or just leave to go home. No planned convoy afterwards.
typically not. I have GMRS radios that I can share a couple of, and some of the other guys have various types of radios in their rigs, but with less than a dozen rigs and modern cell phones there normally isn't any real need. As long as they don't do any more detours just past Hoquiam the route is pretty straight forward. Is there no radio plan?
I haven't really got them up to speed. Is there no radio plan?
We get it, advertisements are annoying!
