Power issues

So I have an 83 cucv m1009. I put a banks sidewinder turbo on it along with did a manual transmission swap because turbo 400 was trashed when I bought it. I put the sm465/np205 setup in it but now I lose a lot of power when riding down the road in top gear the truck dies on its face. But in all other gears I could pull a house down. I'm thinking it could be the gear ratio in the axle? 3.08's seem like they are too light anyone else ever run into this problem?
