There is a specific tool that is used not a generic pulley puller. Autozone & o reilly have it in their loaner tools. It is a press fit. There is also a power stg pulley install tool that threads into the center shaft.Is there a secret to getting the pulley off of the power steering pump? Even with a pulley puller I have been unable to get it to even budge.
Thank you so much ... turns out I was using the right puller, but simply needed to use an impact wrench with it. Still needed to rent the other tool for pressing it back on though. Got it changed out now just need to flush the system and try to fix my leak at the fan clutch before putting it back on the truck.There is a specific tool that is used not a generic pulley puller.
