Primary fuel filter different ?

The primary fuel filter I took out fit the center rod nicely. The replacement is much larger with cork on both ends ?

The filter flops around inside the retainer because the opening is soo much bigger. Its a wix 33511. Is this correct ? Do I flip the brass support on the bottom of the filter upsidown to help center the filter in the assembly ?

Yes, turn the cup over, it will help. The correct filter is NSN2910-00-790-2300. Hard to find.
You could get my primary spin-on adaptor and end the problem. see the website below. JT out

Everyone needs to put the primary filter can into the trash. I have not seen one that is not rusted and nasty. JT makes the easiest of the adapters to install, in my opinion. Very quick to install and works like a charm.

If you do not use JT's adapter get another from OD Iron or someone else. You will not regret it.

I just got a set of full filters. I'll do a conversion for spin on type my next change.

No matter whose product you choose, and there are several, you will be doing your MV a big favor by switching to a complete spin on filter setup.
