PS Noise on Left Turn Only

Every since I bought my Humvee, the power steering would scream on any accelerated left turn. You would need to accelerate on a LEFT turn in order for it to make the groan noise. I also saw a POV drive on Youtube (Dakata Wood) and his did the same thing, so I just set it aside and went easy on left turns.

Fast forward to today, I just replaced my steering box (brand new oiled unit) which I thought would solve the problem. It didn't. My old steering box leaked so it wasn't a waste of money, but I'd like to solve this problem. Once it starts to make noise, it continues for some time, all starting with an acceleration on a left turn.

Anyone have any ideas?

So it is NOT the steering box itself
How many valves are in that system? ..................
and How are the motor, engine- transmission mounts doing?

Check your belts, I had a belt missing a chunk, it did not squeal all the time but when it did you knew it. Also check the tension on belts.

its your PS pump that whines, not the gear...full hard left left or right to steering stops will produce noise.

This is what I knew but I was curious why I have seen a few doing this only on left turns. For example, how does the pump know I am making a left over a right turn? With that in mind, I thought maybe the steering box was applying a bit too much pressure on left turns causing the pump to whine, but it didn't fix a thing.

So, what would cause the system to introduce air on a left turn only during hard acceleration? Could this be the pump getting old? I can easily replace it but it would suck if the problem persists, once again, after another replaced part. Again, this ONLY happens on hard acceleration on a left turn. You cannot make it whine on a right turn or left at rest or idle. Only when accelerating from a stop on a left turn.

All belts are new and tensioned properly. This is a humming whine, like air in the fluid.
