PTO cover plate

Anyone know where I can find a pto cover plate and gasket for a M35A2? I am getting ready to remove the pto and need something to put in it's place so I can still drive it.

Take the one off the PTO. It has an inspection cover that bolts right up to the transmission. Gasket??? NAPA or just about any truck place should have the SAE standard 6 bolt PTO gaskets in a variety of thicknesses.

Exactly what I was going to say. Also, you'll need to think about the PTO studs. Either remove them or get enough washers so you'll have enough thread to use...you'll find out what I mean

Any trans shop or junk yard should have the cover if you don't want to rob the one on the PTO. RTV silicone will work fine if you don't have a gasket. I'd go ahead and pull the studs and use bolts for the cover.

Thanks for all the help guys. Didn't realize this was such a common part and not m35 vspecific. Will check some local yards on Monday.

SAE 6 bolt...

For mounting a PTO, use the thin gaskets that come in premeasured thicknesses. The number and selection of said gaskets will put the correct backlash in the gears.
For mounting a PTO cover, use a COVER GASKET (squishier, more like a "regular" gasket" or use silicone.
