Purchased 8/21/2019, GOV PLANET STILL DOESN'T HAVE ME CLEAR TO PICKUP!!

I bought item 1940130 on GovPlanet on 8/21/2019. It is an M936 5-ton Wrecker. I challenge the truck is highly sought-after by Hans Grueber.. They took over a month to "accept" my EUC, now it shows "correction needed", but they won't tell me what corrections. I think it is in that status just so they can justify the delay. I still don't have anything from them as far as a response. So far their tactics seem to be (1) Lie to me on the phone when I remind them that 6 months is more than 8 to 12 weeks, (2) transfer me to someone else, who will then (3) take a message or (4) forward me to a voicemail that will never be returned. Does anyone have a contact at GovPlanet that will do something other than lie to me and/or ignore my messages?

I feel your pain. I stopped getting mad and started suing them. I understand that's not a good option for everyone but it was the only way I was able to get them to do what they said they'd do.

Well, I'm a lawyer, so I try not to do the whole "I'll sue you" as a first response, but it is really looking like it will either be that or a call to my congressman.

I cant help you with anyone there that is competent, I am experiencing the same problems in getting a SF-97 form on one of the globe trailers I purchased on 12-11-19 out of Ca, Item 2777758. I also have a refund due on tires Item #3080985 I purchased and refused on pickup as they were junk under the shrinkwrap , only the top one was made visible to trick the buyer into expecting the rest of them were in that represented condition. that was out of the Farr West location in Ut . I was told An immeadiate refund to my card would be processed that day and has still not occured, that was on the 28th of Jan 2020. I receved a letter via E-Mail telling me that the refund had been submited on the 29th to their accounting dept and thats as far as that got! Their policy is to take your money and forget about you, anyone in their employ that tries to do the right thing probably is moved out or told not to reply or respond or will lose their job- Who knows. Word of advice is to ONLY pay with credit card do NOT wire funds and you might have some leverage if you dispute the charge with your credit card co. It takes the money back out of their account and requires them to do their job to get it back. Its not the best solution as it ties up your credit for that purchase for up to 90 days but it may light a fire to get you your paperwork or release your item. I am not going to deal with them anymore and would advise anyone to be extreamly carefull if they buy anything that requires a title or EUC, and NEVER buy tires that are shrinkwraped. You can bet they are hiding something they will use that to scam you out of your money if they think they can get away with it. I am looking into filing a complaint with the Attorney gen office as I already did with the BBB and they cant do anything to enforce any resolution. Good luck. Our only way to deal with this unethical and quite possibly Illegle way of doing business is to let everyone know about our experiences with them. Thank you to a few Yard guys and Gals for trying to do the right thing, sorry you have to work for such poor and crooked management. AK Dave

Still nothing. I'm really going to have to sue these jerks to get my truck, aren't I?
Call em. 3x a day everyday till you hear something. Bug em. I know of someone that filed one in July and they called several times today and it was cleared and in his email by 5pm.

EUCs are done by the military they have deeper pockets full of money and lawyers to ignore your suit.

Maybe there’s a simple explanation in the delay,
the date should be 12/8/19, day month year.

I just spoke with their legal department. They acknowledge their screw-up and are getting it fixed as soon as possible, but should be less than two weeks. For those of you with trouble with Govplanet.com, I will say the single most effective thing I did was call them every morning, noon, and night, asking for "today's lie about where this truck is." Some of the reps were typical "whatever, sir." reps, but a few of them were very reasonable and truly tried to help. Once it got up to the legal department, things started happening very quickly!

I will say at no point did they ever offer a discount or to refund the monies, which is congruent with the rest of the comments on the forum.

You were right; calling them three times a day to get "today's lie about this truck" was the key. That truly moved the complaint up the chain pretty quickly. I only called for two days, morning, noon, and night. Got a call from the legal department the evening of the second day.

May we ask: What was the outcome of that callback???

I got a call from their legal department (ironically, was on hold with their customer service line at the time).

He first tried threatening me, telling me that I can't keep calling three times a day, to which I responded with "I can and will until you release this truck."

He retorted with, "we'll cancel the sale and give you your money back." to which I responded with "you also owe me rent on seven months for a commercial wrecker. I'll sue you."

He said "you'd have to hire a lawyer, and it would take at least six months or a year, if you ever saw the truck. We get sued all the time."

I responded with "I am a lawyer, and I'll TRO your ass with specific performance to have the truck here in ten days, in front of the judge that introduced me to my wife. Would you rather pay rental rates on a commercial wrecker lease for the last seven months, plus my attorney's fees?" He was disappointed to know that his team "forgot" to mention they also still owe me the title to another purchased vehicle. He agreed they "didn't look to good on this one."

The conversation got much more friendly after that, and he said he would call me back Monday with the EUC release. I'm still trying to get them to waive the auction fees or pay for the shipping. I expect a call by 10 am on Monday; I'll TRO them next Friday if not.

The one thing they can do that is beyond your control is ask the military to deny the EUC and Gov planet refunds your money and leaves them free from liability since EUC approval is done in Battle creek and not them.

I think their legal department got the message that I'm not messing around on this issue. I have an SF-86 clearance and current service member ID. If they deny it, they'll need a good reason for my congressman as to why. "He's mean to us" probably won't cut it.

Glad to see that you made progress on this situation, what your going through has always been my biggest worry about buying anything from GovPlanet.

Thank you for your update and those "juicy" details.

I am happy to know that as an attorney you were adequately equipped for that scuffle.
Knowing that you are a member here and an MV enthusiast WITH certain legal advantage may have "blown your cover". I trust the integrity of our Members to NOT be overwhelming you with requests for pro bono representation.

Thanks for standing up to Goliath and slinging a potent stone at his skull.

Proud of ya, nobody expects things to happen overnight, but the delay you have experienced is without doubt uncalled for.
Wish you nothing but success and maybe you have
helped some other people out.
