I put seats and a console in my other M1009 this weekend. Seat came out of a wrecked PT Crusier and were easy to adapt to the existing seat brackets. I made a custom bracket to mount the chevy console. Chris

There was a nice home-built 1009 console on eBay yesterday. It had 2 cup holders, power port, cell phone caddy, and a locking lid. If it hadn't been going for over $165 (like down around $20 maybe) I would have bid on it.

I'm still kicking around the idea of a 20mm ammo can between the seats as a console with 2 additional ones in the back for stereo speakers. Cut a couple of pieces of 3" metal tubing and weld on top of the lid and you have "field expediant" cup holders.

20mm is what I use. I took off one of the clamps on the end and welded on two hinges and on the clamping side (front) I welded on a pad lock hasp.

I can open it with one hand and not have to put the top somewhere and it will lock when needed.

It fits great and looks like it was made to go there.
