Question about parking brake cables for a M149A2 Water Buffalo

Hi All,

I purchased a M149A2 Water Buffalo and am having trouble sourcing parking brake cables for it...

The NSN is 2530-00-863-5596 and part # is MS53060-6.

The cable is 60.125 inch overall length.

wbparts states it is also for a M103 trailer (chassis).

Eastern Surplus list it, but no pricing, so probably not available:

Will a standard M105 series cable work?

M105 trailer is showing to be NSN [FONT=&quot]4010-00-696-2971 Which is only 4.188 feet long min and 4.2 feet maximum length.

Thanks for finding that Wess - I was looking for a length on a M105 cable while you typed the answer...

Darn, guess I won't be using a M105 cable - too short (but it has a grease fitting in the middle - too bad mine weren't made like that...)

Eastern probably has it but for things that say "call for price" means you need to remortgage your house before you order it .
I called them last year for the hand lever for my M149A2 and they wanted $229 + shipping , I bought a couple NOS ones off e-pay for $20 each shipped.

I hear ya on the pricing Porky and don't disagree with that statement...

I was able to take my cable apart - ream out the plastic tubing and that removed the binding, so that works since I can't source one...
