LA Question - Restoration and Insurance in Louisiana

I'm getting ready to do a full restore on my 71 Deuce. I figure it is going to take a couple of years, so the truck will be off the road for all of that time.

Is there a way that I can "suspend" my insurance while the restoration is done? I would like to be able to use my current license number once the restoration is done.

You **should** be able to fill out an affidavit of non-use.... it will allow you to suspend insurance in your vehicle during the stated period.
