I removed only the bolts holding the ball joints and the other 3 bolts necessary to make the repair. I'm not familiar with the blue lock nut you mention.

Looking into the spindle nuts, I see these 3 types. I don't recall the characteristics of the spindle nut howevr I do remember the indexing ring pictured in the second version here. http://www.hummerpartsguy.com/Geared-Hub-Spindle-Nuts_b_3.html
Does that mean anything regarding my particular spindle nut? I was told the hubs were rebuilt as part of the restoration I paid for. Sure hope the right parts were used.
