Godspeed to David.

CARNAC, to those of us not in direct touch during the service, accident? What happened? Are you OK?

I saw where you rode with Bruce but you could still be hurt...

What would Jesus do?

Yeah, I have been getting the same thing since 1300 EST.
He left the 99 for the 1. Her sister-in-law was MIA and she refused to begin until she was seated. Once located, we proceeded. Thank you for your patience. Soon I will post full account of the day.

Our most heartfelt appreciation for your life!

Hey all,

BKuba and I just returned from the funeral. I don't think I could make it through the promotion ceremony. My neck was really bothering me from the accident and I didn't want to take the percosets while there.

Ceremony was a nice send off but would rather have David back as I'm sure we all would. Bruce (me riding shotgun) carried David to the cemetary. Enroute we had several people that wondered what was going on and as soon as they realized popped a salute. I think we gave David a nice final ride.

I want to thank Dudley for helping organize our part, especially after I got sidelined.
Also want to thank everyone that turned out. I'm sure David and his family appreciate it.
Gonna sign off for now.

CARNAC
I know the humility with which Carnac would respond to this, but nontheless, I must try to express, with words that seem insufficient, just how much it meant for all that he was doing to help this plan come together. Ultimately God knows and was responsible for putting the mission into Carnac's heart.

We feeble and frail humans can not fathom our Heavenly Father's plan, most of the time, but we trust! There was some reason that the intended lead vehicle was not to be used, some even less understandable concept of how God will work together for good, the accident. His ways are higher than our ways and beyond our human reason. I guess that is why He is God!

Infants know no better than to trust that their mamas and papas will care for them. Can we do anything but trust that Daddy God loves us a 1,000,000,000 times more than any human parent ever could? I love when I can look back to a situation and God sheds light on the fruit that was reaped from the seeds of the trial that were sown.

God bless you Carnac! We will meet again in the not so distant future.

Love in Christ, Mama

I have created an album of photos from the funeral yesterday. Dave has passed on but left an impact on everyone here, as well as along the journey of his life. He shall be missed by us. Thanks to everyone who showed up to escort him to his final resting place. It was a very moving event, like all military funerals with honors are. The geese were flying over head as the gun salute and taps occurred. He was laid to rest in a country cemetary. Go with God, friend to all of us. Dudley

It was an honor to help out. When CARNAC asked me if I could carry David to the cemetary, I immediately agreed! It was the least I could do for such an honorable man. It made me feel nice to know that I was giving him his last ride in a military vehicle.

I think you learned the most important things littlebob...love Of God, love of Country, and love of Family.
That's what he preached and what he lived...that's just the man in a nut shell.

We talked a few times in chat and PMs...felt good...

He died on active duty...and yes we should remember him and all others that gave all they had to give...including their lives.
Peace...love...fellowship....wasn't that his message? See ..it carries on...

Mission complete

This has been a very special Memorial Weekend for Christian and Noah. They have stayed at Aberdeen since Thursday and have gotten to meet numerous of Dave's friends from this site. In December Dave was making plans for 2 trips when he retired. The Florida rally and then Aberdeen. He was called home but both of his sons were able to represent him. This is what this weekend end is all about. Honoring those who have served and fallen so we have the freedom to live in a democracy. Politics aside, we live in the greatest nation on earth. It still is one nation under God. Lets take a minute and thank God for watching over us and giving America guys like Dave who gave all. Happy Memorial Day !!!

Dearest Gentlemen,

Thank you so much for remembering Dave. Marian and the girls are attending:

15th Annual
TAPS National Military Survivor Seminar

Memorial Day Weekend | May 22 - 25, 2009
It has been a hard several months for them, but the prayers of the Body of Christ have upheld them. We attended a Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony held by our Regional Red Cross office. They played a crucial part in getting Marian and entourage to Dulles to meet Dave and getting everyone back to Baltimore. Kudos to Cyndi Ryan and her cracker jack team of volunteers who were with us from 11am-9pm. 2 vans with drivers, snacks and personalized momentoes of the Red Cross's thanks for the sacrifice of their father and family greeted us and cared fro us throughout our day. When we were leaving the funeral home, after seeing Dave for the 1st time in more than 6 months, you know how we were feeling, I am sure. The Field Director had a choose a restaurant and then treated out entire group of nearly 20 people to dinner. Marian and the children were able to introduce these loving strangers to Dave and tell wonderful stories of their lives together. This was ever so healing for everyone.

We were never forgotten by the Red Cross. Cyndi checked back in after some months to see how Marian was doing and to ask for some photos of Dave and the family for a Hometown Hero Project that they were working on. At the Memorial Day Remebrance Ceremony, we met families of other Fallen Soldiers, as well as families of Disaster Victims. I have taken my 2 youngest daughters to the Red Cross Volunteer Orientation and we have decided to volunteer in various capacities. I will be serving at a picnic next weekend for soldiers who will be transitioning from the hospital, after receiving injuries in Iraq and Afghanistan, back into life after war.

Thanks to those who met and were able to build up Christian and Noah at an event at APG recently. Marian is concerned, especially for Noah and how he is handling things these days. Our prayers are for godly men to mentor them in the faith as some things can only be handled by another man. A mother, no matter how marvelous she may be, and Marian is just that, can not empathize what young men go through nor know how to help them navigate through the traps that will befall them from a male perspective.

Please reach out and say hi to Marian! I think she should get the updates to this thread, just as I did and was able to see the resurrection of thoughts and prayers for Dave and his family.

My deepest gratitude to each of you for your service and sacrifice for our country and the world. Not only you gave, but each of your extended families have given so much as well. You live to give each citizen of the world the right to hold any opinion and enjoy liberty and freedom on every level. THANK YOU!!!

Love in Christ, Mama Kim

It doesn't seem like a long time since Dave was PCS's by the Man Upstairs but there was undoubtedly an important mission for him to accomplish.
Although I never met him in person I spoke to him on the phone and we PM'd back and forth several times.
I'm a better person for having known him that short time.
Hold down the fort until we get there Sir.

Back in 2008 I sent a PM to David about an issue that I needed some insight on. 7 years later I still read it and it still has the same affect. Just wanted to share it with those who never had the chance to talk with him and for those who have, another good memory to add.

Mike:
Thanks for the note. It is a hard time in life for all of us on this globe and it is never going to be easy for everyone since man is locked into sin and all have fallen short of the holiness of God. What makes the difference for us as Christians is that Jesus Christ came into this world of sin and brought with him the very essence of God the Creator of all things. It is in him the Resurrected Savior that we place our faith. Since the Bible is the document that God spoke for man we know that his word is true and able to help us in times of trouble.

First thing that I do every day is thank God for the new day and ask that I walk in his will for my life. Sure we go to work and have to function in this world but as Christians we are not in our home turf. We know that God promised us his Holy Spirit to comfort us and it is that part of God that dwells in us when we ask Jesus to be our Savior. We are sinful beings and it is the Grace of God in Jesus Christ that we have our refuge. In keeping this in mind I go through each day with an attitude of praise for GOD. It is really a revolution from what the world thinks all this doom and gloom are prophesized in the Bible. We have our hope and trust in the fact that Christ is in us which is our hope of Glory.

I reccomend reading at least the Gospel of John again and the book of Romans for a start. You can do this in an evening or two and pray about letting the Holy Spirit teach you and show you God's will for your life.

If you would like to hear some great sermons in the comfort of your home go to GGWO.ORG and visit the recent messages in MP3 format. Pastor Schaller is the head pastor and he has been a missionary in Finland for over 20 years and in Hungary for another five years.
He is a great preacher.

Please PM me any time it is my pleasure to answer you mail and I pray that what I have said will help answer your question. If not please let me know and I will address it futher.

God bless,

Very respectfully,
David

I've been touched by David myself, all too often. I could hear his voice as I read his words. Thank you very much.
