Thank you for that report.Probably 200+ people at the Memorial service today. RIP Jamie.... I will miss you!
I couldn't agree more. I ran a couple dozen loads of gravel at 20,000 #'s per with exactly the same in mind. I constantly said to myself "if the brakes give out, or some one pulls out in front of me.....where is my out". I drove slow, pumped the brakes well ahead of each intersection, and looked for "outs" on my route.I personally would run my truck strait off the road IF I HAD TOO, to save the lives of those in front of me. With gods good graces I haven't had to do that yet and never will have to but the thoughts are never far from thought when I'm driving my MV.
We have a tendency to want to think of these trucks (and anyone who might be riding in them) as being invincible.I often talk about this tread to new members to let them know that if these trucks are ever in a bad accedent we will more then likely kill or be killed if things go bad. The story isn't to scare new members away from the trucks and that its to let them know that we have to know, and entisapate as best as we can what maybe ahead of us.
DittoIs there any update on the truck driver who caused the wreck? Charges?
