rear brake proportioning valve

On my m1028 I had to replace the brake line going to the back. I unbolted the proportioning valve from the bracket to make hooking up the brake line easier. When I took the valve off I spun it on the rod going to the rear to get that rod off.(I also replace that rod because it was bent so I would have had to take it off anyway) Now when I use my brakes it seems that the rear brakes are not grabbing correctly(seems like the front is doing most of the stopping). I have bled the brakes twice to make sure there is no air. I am wondering from me spinning the valve it is off set it, which is causing it not giving the right amount of pressure and is there a way to check if it is where it belongs?
