After talking with a fellow SS member in my local area who made the exact same trek last year from Wright Patt, I'm think of making the return trip from Dayton over to Chillicothe,OH on SR35 then South on 23 all the way down to Asheville,NC. He said it was a tad shorter and it had more opportunities if we had a problem. Anyone along that route to visit with in case of a major malfunction or just a quick meet and greet?

Well Stage one is complete as Gimpy went this morning and picked up my Christmas present. After scarring the living S+%T out of me by telling me the rear axle locked up, he proceeded to say it went great and the truck is beautiful. Several members who saw the video mentioned a squeak as it was running but Gimp said after the drive over, it was fine; no noises. Thanks a million for your troubles!!!

The surroundings of the truck look vaguely familiar. I drove it and in the 75 feet I want to say it handled great. :)

I-75 and I40 though the gorge is the way to go. I 26 over martins gap can be hairy. The TN side is steep and curvy, but the NC side is a long straight shot down the mountain, and you can lose it very quickly.

You know, after going through the truck and seeing that motor in person, I bet that would easily fit in a deuce engine compartment.

Hmmm...
