Reducible Height?

I may need to transport two M923's from Sparta to Chicago. I have a regular flatbed semi trailer and we just may squeeze two of them on it with some creative placement (45ft trailer).

To be of legal height, we may need to reduce their height to the "minimum reducible height" by removing the soft tops, and exhaust and intake stacks.

My question is how time consuming is that?

thanks

If there is no major rust, pretty easy. Two guys probably 30 mins. Hard top bolts, clamps on the air intake and exhaust. Soft tops even faster. The tallest item left will be the mirrors, so if you need more reduction you could remove them also.

The exhaust would be the tallest part of the truck and if they do not have super singles removing the exhaust should do it. I put a A3 and a 817 on my trailer and was fine height wise but had to put the trucks just right on the trailer to get the weight limit correct since I am pulling with a bob tail! We had a DOT friend come to our house with scales to see what we could legally pull before we made any recovery.

You will have to unbolt the tire davit also. My exhausts are shortened by 6 inches and the davits are off both my trucks so I can get thru the local underpasses. I am at 9 feet 7 inches like this. How low do you have to go you can get an inch or two letting some air out if you have the single tires.
