Removing Door Gun Ring Mount

I would like to remove the gun ring mount from the passenger door frame. I plan install a metal plate as filler so I was wondering if anyone who has done this could post a few pictures. I would like to get an idea of how the door will look when finished. Thanks

I have bobbed my deuce and it gives me more clearance for my muffler.

Looking at jason's 2nd pic above, does the gun ring mount (2 pieces) both go BEHIND that little flange of the dash board sticking out, or does one go in front of it and one behind it, sandwiching it?

I think they both go behind it but didn't take pics of this particular thing when I took it apart many months ago!

Both go be hind.
