Resistration issues in Iowa!!

Had an easy go of it registering my M818 today here in Iowa. Got the AZ title from GL, took it in to the county. Only had three questions from the cleark to answer

What color is it --- Green
Is it a travel trailer -- no, it's a truck (the AZ title was a bit confusing)
The VIN number comes up as Invalid -- yes, it's a military vehicle, they don't have "normal" VINs

$59 later I had my plates in hand.

Right now, I am not planning on towing a trailer (no place to keep it). If I do get a trailer, I'll check with the state to see if anything needs to change on the registration.

Can't beat that price! My deuce is $240 per year for about 20K lbs max. I think it was the same fee from about 16K to 20K, and then another $100 or so over 20k.

Drive safe, for that money I doubt you have the tonnage to cover your truck, as Gastrap said for his tonnage i run the same, m931 truck tractor weights in at 22k with a driver, no cargo at all. I went and paid for the correct tonnage so the dot doesn't have anything to complain about if someone would get stopped to help them enforce something new with mv's

This form is all you need to fill out in Iowa to bypass the FMVSS requirements. Basically you are certifying the vehicle. I have registered several military vehicles in Iowa with this form. https://forms.iowadot.gov/FormsMgt/External/411187.pdf
