Restoration -Help identifying what was mounted on the pass side fender

Can anyone tell me what was, or could have been mounted on the passenger side front fender?
The are four holes drilled. Trying to put it back together to original specs but I can't figure out what went here?

Someone thought it might have held the ration heater. It is an odd place to mount an antenna... The holes are machine punched as opposed to drilled. So I don't know

We used to add 20lbs. fire extinguishers in that location when the truck was designated a P.O.L. truck. Will look aroud to find a picture of this modification.

Chemical agent detector. Here's it mounted to the fender of a M151 jeep. They were common in the 1970s and 1980s at the tail end of the Cold War.
