My newly found "self-feeding skill" provided to me resulted in multiple CONFLICTING answers! Some say you can and some say you can't. The purpose of my post was to bring clarity and perhaps a consensus to the subject. I certainly feel my intentions were "in line" with the nature of condensing information.

More than likely another thread of opinions is going to bring the same mixed results .

There should be no questions after reading post 23 linked by Clinto. Plain and simple, black and white, drawings for those who need visual references. Any further conversation is only for conversations sake. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but not their own facts. Thanks for the facts Gerhard.

One of the best bets might just be to see what miltary wheels you have in your area that you can purchase without needing to get them shipped. I guess it all depends on your budget. A3 wheels are usually expensive and as shown by Gringeltaube, not the correct rim to use with 395s. Purchased pre-modified wheels can be expensive too (but not always), and they probably need to be shipped but I think there is an outfit in your region that does this?

-There are a couple companies that modify HEMTT, and FMTV rims by cutting out the centers and welding in new ones so you can essentially just buy a finished wheel.

-Or you can buy adapter plates. I make/sell MRAP adapter plates that just bolt right on and require no additional work. There are many variations of the MRAP wheel but basically they all have 10 lug holes and a large 11" center hole.

-I've also got a new bolt on adapter plate coming out soon that will fit a couple different common wheels. It fits the FMTV wheels, and both versions of the 5 ton combat rims. (these rims are probably the least expensive / easiest to find wheels out there at the moment). The FMTV rims have 20 beadlock studs, and a 10 lug holes with an 8-3/4" center hole. The 5 Ton Combat rims have 10 beadlock studs, and a 10 lug holes with an 8-3/4" center hole. There are 2 versions of the 5 ton combat rim, they look the same but have different size beadlock studs on a slightly different diameter.

Fixed your title. I was wondering why someone wanted to put a 305 on an A3 rim.

Are 395's supposed to fit on A3 wheels? No

Do they fit? Yes

Have I had any problems with them? No

Could I have problems with them? Maybe

You draw your own conclusion.
