I see now. A pic clears it all up. It might work without reaming the rod holes out but Heath is correct, we are back to doing something that most likely won't be cheap.

Good bolts are the way to go IMHO.

Those are through bolts with a nut. LDT/S rods use a blind threaded hole. That's why a stud might work.

I got the bolts from Tractor Joe today. Anyone want to test them to see if there the stronger version ? I've posted these pictures. As you can see there 12 point heads like the stronger versionsThe bolts cost $18.00 ea. plus shipping.

In case you are curious which rod bolts you have, look through the rearmost oil drain plug hole.

I found them for 16.45 ea at agkits.com, cheapist I could find.

Don't you know, there bolts are Gold plated !!! That's for the MV collector who has everything.

It's just good to see that these rod bolts are more easily attainable for those who are on a budget now. This in itself makes an In frame an option for those who could maybe only afford a used questionable motor before.
