Roofs removed from the 11XX Slant Backs(?)

Hello All,

I suppose the roofs being removed from the 11XX Slant Backs is because of some new classification that they are armor and thus must now be demiled? Does anyone have the scoop?

At first I thought this was the state of California saying you cant sell an armored vehicle in our state. But it looks like Georgia is doing the same. Any ideas what's going on with this?

They were pulled to outfit the Hmmwv's supporting the Taliban.

maybe something with the m1114s. the roofs are not the same as the m1151 and m1165.
The m1151, m1152, and m1165 still sell with roof and overlay in both states.
The m1114 also has different a/c system and a slightly different body. Some parts will be harder to get, because BAE (ogara hess) outfitted these.

This is a new development. The roofs were always sold with the m1114s previously. Will a 10xx series roof fit the m1114?

M1114 roof is useless...as turret support is almost non-existant.
Turrets are somewhat easy to come by.
Better off putting a m10xx roof on it

These tops sell pretty well for people willing to do some fabrication- not a perfect fit, but it is so heavy and rigid- if you are looking for a roof only, it is a good option.............

Just bought a M1151 in Georgia that had the roof intact. I saw some of these and was curious as to why they removed them.

Demill requirements change, so what’s being done today can be different next week, just depend…there is certainly no hard and fast on some of the items removed.
