Run flats on a deuce?

Thats good to know. I was planning on converting to dual circuit brakes any way. Would running two master cylinders with each connected to one of the steering tires and the opposite side rear tires (not the actual tires, but that tires brake) work best? I feel it would be easier to set one master cylinder per side, but if I braked I would drift one way or the other and this would reduce the drift somewhat.

That's pretty much what Volvo did on their 700 series cars in the pre-ABS days. Dual piston calipers in the front, single piston calipers in the rear. Each circuit ran both fronts and one back.

That makes me feel all smart now. :dog head: The volvo engineers seem to know what they were doing. My '88 station wagon runs like a top even after I learned to drive a manual on it.

Upgrading to dual circuit brakes has been covered in-depth by several members (gringeltaube, jesusgatos, trango, et. al.); just do a search and you'll find all kinds of great info. I even bought some upgrade parts from another member (Trango) and when I have the time I plan on upgrading the braking system.

But in the meantime, the key is to properly adjust the brakes you have, and ensure that your wheel cylinders, etc... are all in great shape, and pressure-bleed your brake lines. I have all the confidence in the world in my Deuce brakes, they stop right now when I squeeze on the brake pedal. Be pro-active and take care of your brakes, as they'll take care of you.
