Glad there was no serious damage.Mine was my fault for not using safety wire on the bridge over the fuel rod. It vibrated itself loose and the pin on the tip of the rod was not making contact to the shut off plate, so it just idled erratically till' i stalled it out and fixed it.
Having had one of my engines throw the rods through the block (Studebaker REO 1954) I can honestly say that that is a real possibility !Either he fixed it or his engine fired it's rods out of the crackcase.
