I have been knocking around automotive work since I was 15. I will not say how long ago that was but had not seen the candle wax ever used. I did try it a few weeks ago and it worked very well. Moderate heat was all that was needed so this is a great fix where sheet metal is involved and excess heat can cause the steel to warp.

I use the ATF/assitone mix and kroil. The kroil also works great for cleaning and oiling guns.
