S-250 AN/TSM-183 New Project

Have a S-250 AN/TSM-183 and looking for information as where to start.
Putting in a M-1102 hauled by my HMMWV
Can't find any info on the electrical system.
Looks like a 240 volt input down to 120 volt with an inverter to 12 or 24 volts.. Says it has a heater but I don't see it unless it's in the fan.
Any manuals around for this particular unit. Love to know what the item wired by the lower door. It's busted up on mine
What batteries are used in these?
You experts that can do this with your eyes close I'm sure are chuckling but I know the military doesn't follow common sense....wiring manuals good. lol

My experience with these shelters is that there are many, many configurations, each rigged for a specific purpose, and these myriad of variations are not laid out in the general manuals. There is likely documentation for each shelter setup, but that seems to rarely make it out to us.

The broken thing by your door may be the blackout switch - it either turns off the interior light when the door is opened, or switches to dim lighting. There seems to be a lot of variation in those too.

Take the NSN from your container, and see if its listed on the cover of the TM's. If you have no joy, then say something and I will take a look see. But I need the model number and the NSN.

Thanks for you help I've read many of your posts and download many TM hoping to find wiring info
My NSN # is scratched off (at least the first of it)
Also there is a radio mount tray with an antenna (looks like a dipole) that just goes into the wall and can't find where it comes out ??? any idea

Google says you have a “spares facility” for “nodal maintenance”. Circa 1986. This seems to have been a way for radio techs to have spare parts and diagnostic equipment in the field to keep radio networks operating. Not exactly historically significant. In my opinion you can gut it to do whatever you wish. The shelter would have received power from external sources.

This was as i was retiring and becoming an ECU and Gen answer man. Hid away I found TM 11-4940-483-13&P dated 1 March 1989 with Change 1 March 1997, LIW PIN 063649, it is 8.94 Megabytes large. There is also a parts manual -14&P. This was a maintenance shelter usually mounted on a 2.5 Ton or 5 Ton with a TSM -183 as a parts warehouse says the manual. It was used to repair MSE equipment that went out of service in the way late 1990s and early 2000s for JNN equipment. The reason no manuals exist is it is coded FOUO and release only to ARMY Units and Government agencies providing support, and not for general distribution. It is NOT classified. I can't send it out to anyone without someone knocking on my door asking lots of questions and a poky house waiting as everyone monitors the internet. The forum would also get in trouble so I did not give it to GUY. It had a portable electric heater you just plugged into a 120VAC outlet in in the Maintenance kit 144, and an ECU of the MPI type 9,000 BTU which is also out of the system and I have that manual but no parts like everyone else. Most signal outfits used it for the maintenance chief MOS 918B for a hooch in field exercises, as I found them hold up in there when they called me. I had 2 of these in units I supported here in Karlsruhe Germany. I was their higher maintenance shop at DS and GS level, and I was at that time a 918B Senior Warrant Officer for their support. Sig units tried to hang on to them as we went to IRAQ. Always asked for help when it was busted. All shelters that could be modified to JNN shelters were used and only ones coded out by factory were sent to DRMO for auction usually because of insulation contamination between inner and outer walls. (Black Mold from moisture) or some incompatibility. 120/240AC input and cables were in the system when I retired the second time: and that busted blackout switch prevents the AC relay from allowing inner circuits to operate such as lights. The outlet strip should still function. It used an inverter to make 24-28VDC which was always busted because they used it to jump start vehicles.
