Sanford FL Monday May 25 2015: Memorial Day Parade & Convoy to Cracker Barrel

Oddball: Thanks for volunteering to lead the way!! I don't know that part of Sanford that well, and I appreciate you stepping up to help out.

Mad Hatter 58: I hope you can get your brakes fixed and get the time off of work. This parade is a lot of fun!

I'm organizing a convoy from East Central FL to the parade lineup. If you'd like to join the convoy, please send me a PM with your location and where you would like to meet us. We can set hard meeting locations and times when we figure out who is coming from what direction.

Hey there Mark. Here is the route that would place us as far east on 1st street as possible. For us and others coming in from the south into Sanford take Ronald Reagan NE towards Sanford. It changes names to Sanford Av. around Lake Mary Blvd. Continue north past Airport Blvd. and past SR 46 ( 25th Street ). Be in the left lane as you approach 46 as that is the straight through lane. Sanford Av. merges down to one lane. Continue north past 13th Street. Turn right on Celery Av. just past the 13th street intersection. The two streets share the same light. Go east on Celery Av. to Melonville Av., turn left, go north on Melonville to 1st Street, turn left. Go a few block until you get to a parade official to direct you to our holding area.

Once you get to 1st Street look for the military vehicles ! No problem figuring it out from there.

Can't make it... Too much going on this weekend, Daughters Sweet 16 is the 26 so the whole family is coming over on Monday... I will have to see you all on the next one.

I just received the lineup sheet from the City of Sanford. We are #49. The Orlando Buffalo Soldiers are in front of us, and the Orlando Devil Dogs Young Marines are behind us. Last year we had 15 vehicles, and it was a big challenge stacking them in the small space they gave us. This year we have 13. When you arrive at the lineup number, please pull in straight so we can park two trucks side by side.

I will be at the Dunkin Donuts on 17-92 and Lake Mary blvd across from Denny's @ 8:15 for my Donut fix!

Ray - We will make it to DD parking lot between 8:15 and 8:30 (We will be coming from meeting QuadJeeper at 8:00 in Winter Springs). Let's take Lake Mary Blvd. east to Ronald Reagan Blvd. from DD.
