If they are a US citizen, yes. If you are a licensed(registered) Importer, yes.

They do not have to be a US citizen but you do have to go through the proper channels to export them. There are a few countries you can legally export MV's to, England being another.

With that said. I know of a few guys from the Great White North that have come south, bought a truck, then drove it back north. How does that work? Just wondering.
I'm going to say that they just didn't get caught.

I wouldn't want to be the one that sold them the truck either.

Am I wrong are doesn't the EUC state that it can never be exported by the purchaser ???? Last time I checked Canada and the US were still seperated by a line called a border,,, thus anything exiting is termed as exporting . Someone better read the LARGE print again....Or at least not advertise there activities in doing so ;-)

I believe the EUC covers a person buying one from GL.

If a Canuck comes down here and buys an MV from an individual that is a couple of owners removed from the EUC they would not know the first thing about it. It happens.

I'm not saying it is legal but that is how it could happen.

I'm aware of a couple vendors out there who will and do export ex-mil trucks, but the going rate for brokerage fees is around $2000 I've been told.

I have also been told that there's a member on this forum who might be able to do the brokerage for around $1000, but he never replied when I PM'd him so I won't mention who he is in case he doesn't want this information broadcasted.

I want an M818 real bad, and early in the new year I'll have the money to buy one. So if anybody reading this wants to sell theirs let me know.

Thank you Mississippian.:)

I'd definitely like to learn more about this. There's got to be some way to import one of these trucks legally.

I would PM " country " here on steelsoldiers. he is a dealer(eastern surplus) and I would wager he is familiar with what you want to do.

A couple times now I have had a pending sale, only to have the seller back out because of the EUC agreement - understandably so.

I had considered approaching Eastern Surplus to see if they would consider brokering the sale as they are one of the vendors who are able to export. But I didn't think they would be interested in helping unless I was buying one of the trucks they were selling.
