Shop Van Bracket Question

Just wondering... What are the brackets at the level of the window bases and at the top of the van body used for? (I know...need pics!) They're shaped like a "V" with the open end faced up to slide something into from the top.

I suspect they're either for some sort of awning bows or for floodlights. To this point I haven't found them referenced in the manuals.

I've wondered the same thing as you for years. I figured maybe some sort of awning support. But have been told by others that they were for a floodlight kit. Like you have never seen any reference to them at all in any of the TMs. It would be nice to know. If anybody knows, I bet David Doyle would!

I had the same question and finally found them in the parts manual and it says they are a bracket for spot light.2cents

I think all of you are right. In Daivd Dolyes book there is a pic of a M109 with the cargo cover on it with the awning bows and they look to be mounted to those brackets. The parts TM does say they are for lights but does not show any lights.
