anyone know why military used silicone brake fluid in M1009? should i stay w/mil spec fluid? what gains do i get by sticking with it vs. going to regular fluid?

Do not buy locally, it is stupid expensive. Off the top of my head www.muttparts.com has it for like $30 a gallon. Other vendors are similar.

As to why, it's so there was only one type of brake fluid that needed to be carried in a motorpool, for all wheeled vehicles.

The well ran dry on that he is out of the Gallons, $16 a Qt

Then try Front Line MV's he had it also. On ebay there's a guy in TX that had over 1000 gallons too, just search.

I would Flush it through New Dot3 brake fluid it will not hurt the system.
I hate to mix fluid's
