Hello everybody.
I suspect my reo m34 has a transfer with simple sprag but I am not sure.
The data plate is missing.
The 6x6 only work in first gear and the front wheels are free in neutral and reverse.

Any idea about to differ a transfer with simple sprag from one with double sprag?

thanks

You have an adjustment issue or a broken sprag. All the sprag cases have 2 sprags one for forward and one for reverse. The forward works in all forward gears.

Adjust per the manual and try that.

In TM 9-8022 from december 1954, section XXI.Transfer say :

On older vehicles, serial 90484 and below, the single sprag transfers have been replaced by double sprag units.

I move the transfer reverse shift rod lever with my hands and the truck is in 6x6 in first gear, but not in reverse. My transfer case is a simple sprag or a double sprag brake.

Thanks
