The TM's show a skid plate for the M880 series trucks.
I've had a few (ok, several) of these trucks over the last 6 years or so.
Never had or seen one with a skid plate / or signs of having had one. *
I've had an ad in the classifieds for a long time "Skid Plate wanted"
No real luck here, I did get one over on ramgharger something or another dot com
Still need to find another one.

*The M884 I just brought home yesterday has one on it!!!!!!!!!!! It also has the front sway bar, which up until now I have only seen on the M886. It also has the rear overload springs, which I've seen on M884's.
The M884 was purchased as a plow / work truck for my AO, (It was just a bonus to find a non civi plow truck- as I was looking for anything in the $1500 range)
So it will keep it's skid plate and sway bar.
and I still need a skid plate for the M880 . ( have sway bar for it already)

So anyone else have a skid plate or front sway bar on their m880 series truck???
Also the tow bar adapters, I've seen some random installations haven't found a TM or other drawings / pics of it either. I'm assuming the install with should be the same as a CUCV or Deuce, and I will figure out the proper install one of these days.

Current 880 series in the yard;
77 M880 was using as a work truck / show truck til now, no more workin' for it!
77 M884 just got, plow/work truck will stay green but will get modified as needed.
77 M884 (red) a (former) friends haven't seen him in a few years, will soon seek abondonded vehicle title for it.
77 M882 parts truck
77 M886 parts truck
78 W400 USAF Ambulance ( not a M series, but I don't care)

pic of recent purchase attached to avoid the this thread is worthless with out pics smilie

Bob, my recently aquired M882 does not have either. Perhaps it's a 76-77 change? It may also be able to be figured out using the UOC codes in the parts manual to see if those parts are for all models. I will take a look at the trucks around here and see if any have them as well. As far as the towbar adapters go, I recently got the plates for mine and I don't see how they attach to the truck, the idea that they are for the 2wd version may be correct. A bit off topic but was wondering if any of your trucks are slow to fill at the gas pump? I just about have to trickle mine in, perhaps the vent is plugged?

Not sure if the UOC means was used on or could have been used on.
but the M884 is listed under skid plate and sway bar.
As for the adapter plates, if they were for the 2wd drive aka M890, why do they say M880 Adapters on them? Istill have not found anything in print on them.

Slow to fill - mud wasps love the little vent tube.

My plates say" M880 series", sure would like to see pictures of them installed. looks like the 4wd should have the skid plates, a MWO perhaps to remove them for some reason?
