I doubt you will find a fake multi ply supplemental armor door, I have a set for the DuraVee and IMHO they are more "stable" , the X doors themselves are rather flimsy in comparison, I never have to close the sup/armor doors more than once like I do on the Detroit.
I am actually thinking of buying the "fake" armor for the Detroit.
They actually have some that mimic the X on the doors if that is important.

That totally makes sense. My experience is with European cars on the pricey side and believe me there are lots of non original parts that are close matches to OEM. But on such a confidential market as civilian humvees that would make no sense.

Altogether I'll keep them as they are. more authentic and less work in the end ;)

Thanks. I scratched a corner and it looks like they have two plates of steel but I'm not totally sure - there are like 4 layers of paint on this truck.
I'm relatively confident about removing the rivets by drilling their head, I'm only worried that there would be some sort of glue between the still and composite material that would give a nasty finish.
The plan is to repaint the whole humvee once I'm done with it's sanitation anyway.but after all, I could start on the ugliest door and see how that goes. Worst case I put the plates back with new rivets.

No adhesive between the skin and door.
You may find that they were never painted.

I was wondering if there was something wrong you could see with the tire or if it was indeed a joke about the CTIS going wrong.

After a week I started a psycho about it and this morning, I had to go and check the tires :D
Yep it is weather checked pretty badly, everyone should check the DOT date on their tires, no need on that one.
