SoCali members...who takes their HMMWV off-road?

Are there any SoCal members that have taken their HMMWV on some trails? My HMMWV should be done soon and I sure wouldn't mind getting together with other HMMWV owners and conquer some trails.

Truckhaven out in Ocotillo is a good place.

My friend Leo has taken his out there and other places. Not sure if he still has his HMMWV though.

I don't think you have to but also check to make sure that you don't need a off-road permit. I think this area is exempt from that but double check to be sure before going out there.

Will do. I probably won't go out there myself. I would hate to break down in the middle of nowhere.

The trails there can go from mild to somewhat extreme, so yes the buddy system helps out.

I got stuck in a small ditch, basically because my pintle high centered me in my CUCV, luckily I had a couple of deuces with me to bail me out
Nice area, and well traveled, so even if you were to get stuck , you're never too far from people.

Like I say, plenty of area to roam, flat to steep incline to canyon and gully, a good variety.

I see "Those Military Guys" are having their four-day excursion this weekend 2/23 - 2/26 2017. i won't have mine ready in time to go, but looks like it would be a ton of fun!
