I thought I should share some information about how you can get things shipped to you from Southern metals. But I ask that unless you are ready to buy please don't call asking for quotes from these people, not buying and wasting everyone's time. I called a lot of people until I found a moving company in Wilmington, who is less than 10 miles from Southern Metals, and a block away from Fastenal. They picked up everything I needed, palletized it and dropped off at Fastenal. They were able to get 4 tires, 4 x doors, and an airlift bumper on one pallet dropped off at Fastenal and charged me $145 to do it.
Company name is Coast to Coast movers, phone is 910-399-6996. The man in charge that I dealt with was Chris and his phone is 910-524-9092, and he gave me permission to share his number. Just make sure Sothern Metals has what you want before you call him.
As far as Fastenal is concerned, firstly you must get a quote to ship the pallet and that will take a few days. Even if you don't care what the cost is, the quote is also the contract and they wont just ship it without that signed. If you underestimate the size of the pallet or weight then you just will pay a little more when you pick up. To give you an example what Fastenal will charge I had that pallet of parts I mentioned shipped to Washington state, it took 2 weeks and it cost me $325. Much cheaper than any other LTL fright company.
