Spam or advertisement on SS?

I've had SS bookmarked from the day I registered, and it happens almost every other time I visit

I just tested this, added the bookmark, and no problem if I use it, however if I come in off a search engine link the Ad pops in first, crazy!

This is the only time I see it. If I link from email or favorites, it never pops up. I guess it is there to prevent new people from joining the site.
