...with my new Deuce. I know I have a long EUC wait ahead, but I snapped some photos. I wonder if any of y'all eagle eyes can tell me anything good or bad from these?

They are very large pics.

She fired right up.

Oh, one strange thing: she has a little solar panel on the hood. Any idea what for?

THANKS for any input!

soalr panel is like a battery tender. Designed to trickle charge the batts. We had them on our M1's. Still had to slave start them. Nice looking rig though. I joined the Guard at Boone so I know exactly where you are at.

Looking pretty good. The engine looks nice and dry. I realize it has been cleaned so most of the oil and grease is gone, but it still would be showing some signs if there was a serious leak.

From what I can see of the brake backplates they look dry too. Even on a truck that has been well cleaned, these will usually show signs of a cylinder leak fairly quickly.

As for the solar panel, that's a new one on me. I think it's a little small for a trickle charger, but who knows? It looks like the wires come out of the firewall just below it, and pass down toward the battery box. You might trace them and see where they go. If they just connect to the batteries, then it is just a small trickle charger.

Looks like you've done well.

The panel is for the solargizer. As was stated early it is a solar charger for the batteries. You should find a small balck box mounted to the inside of you battery compartment, with two small wires hooked to the batteries.
