Well, I got to spend some more time with my Deuce yesterday. When I first seen it I thought it had an air leak at the fitting / housing joing marked with the red "X" in the pic. Yesterday I took the two lines loose, disconnected the brake switch wires, removed the elbow fitting and then removed the large fitting (with the X on it) and cleaned the threads, put new telflon tape on it and started the truck to build pressure - still bad. Did this about 5 times...... until I finally figured out that the gasket under the square cover on the side of the air pack is where the leak is coming from. The gasket lip sticking out a little was bent over in the direction of the red arrow which was blowing the air onto the threads of the large fitting I was "fixing" Well, at least I got good at removing it and blew a ton of water out of the tanks.
Squirted some Air Tool Oil in the Air Pack while I was at it. That little plug was painted over and TIGHT. A few light taps on the head of it with a small hammer and she twisted right out without getting buggered up though.
Since my truck only has 17,000 miles on a depot rebuild I'd assume it doesn't need a complete Air Pack rebuild kit. Does any place sell just these square gaskets? Also, does the Air Pack have to come out of the truck to remove and replace that cover? I think I've seen a spring and plunger assy under that cap in some rebuild pics - is that correct?
On another note, I checked all axles / tranny / t-case oil levels and all were within the first knuckle joint level, except the tranny. It was about 1/2 or more of my finger down in there.
Checked the air pressure in the tires too. Glad I did. Found them to be........

Oh, as I was going up the road to my truck I counted all the trucks sitting there waiting to be sold. 89 of them
If the Air Pack has to come out in order to replace that gasket, combined with one of my rear axle seals leaking, I am thinking I might just haul my truck home. It's about 130 miles to where I am going to keep it.
