Sprague wiper valve

My deuce came with one of the funky on/off wiper control knobs.

So I pulled the knob and valve, and it is definitely not a needle valve. It's some kind of on/off ball valve, I think. Never worked really well, tho. Lots of slop in it, so it would never completely close.

Swapped it out for a standard needle valve that I pulled off the parts truck.

Anyone else get their deuce with one of these? Was it a standard MWO replacement part? Or did some motor pool sarge just drive down to Napa and buy this for mine?

when you say needle valve, do you mean the type knob that you turn open and can adjust the air flow?

Yes. That's the one I've seen on every other deuce I've ever laid eyes on.
