Anyone else have a "gong" type noise comin from the rear when taking off from a stop ? Ive had it the entire time owning the vehicle but thought it may have been normal but been curious latley if it really is. When i take off there is a single leafspring/shifting suspension noise. I plan on havin a buddy help me narrow it down tomorrow.

Mine makes a couple of popping or thumping noises when turning, but no gong noises.

I think the noises mine makes when turning is simply the rear axles shifting laterally and then returning to normal during and after a sharp turn.

Ck the drive shaft between the front and rear diff. Having a buddy move the truck while you look will help.
Could also be loose springs in the pack? or worn bushing in the tracking arms? I doubt both of these but you must start from somewhere.
Keep us posted please.

If your noise is when turning (like post #2); check the trunion bearing 98% sure that's it.
