I need to repair my Solenoid copper plate, but I can not get the Solenoid rod unhooked from the starter yoke. See pic.
It looks like it has a pin in it, but there is not way to punch the pin out.

What's under the orange rubber? Maybe you can disconnect it at that end? Or else you'll need to disconnect the arm deeper in the starter housing.........I'm guessing, I've never had one of those apart. I'd thin that must be in a manual somewhere. On the other hand they probably just said to replace the whole unit.

AZdeuce, Not much under the orange rubber.
The manual just says to replace the starter.
I will look at it more today.
Thanks.

I haven't had one apart. But depending on the brand of the starter one of these manuals might help

TM 9-2920-243-34 - Leece
TM 9-2920-248-35 - Prestolite
TM 9-2920-242-35 - Delco

Here are the two I have saved. I will see if I can find the Delco
